Watch party

Watch together, as if on the same couch

You share your screen: the video plays on the big screen of your rooftop, your friends stand beside you and you hear each other. Free, in the browser, nothing to install.

Two players on a rooftop at night in Rooftop; the room's big screen shows the screen one of them is sharing.
A capture of the game: Maya shares her screen, Léo watches it from the room without pressing anything.

A watch party in three moves

  1. 1

    Walk in with a name

No account to create to start. Your email, later, keeps your profile and your rooms.

  2. 2

Make your room, send its link

Pick a mood, Néon for a night on the rooftops. Whoever opens your link picks a name, arrives beside you and becomes your friend.

  3. 3

    Share your screen

Join the voice, then “Share the screen” and choose the tab with your video. Picture and sound play on the room's big screen, for everyone in it.

Good to know

  • You share from a computer. For the video's sound to come through, share a tab in Chrome or Edge and tick the tab's audio.
  • YouTube, Twitch, your own files and most sites come through. Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video most often show a black screen when shared: that is their copy protection.
  • A room is private by default: people enter by your link, or by joining a friend who is inside.
  • Up to 15 people in a room's voice.

Every Friday at 9 pm?

Set a rendezvous in “Manage”: the room shows it, your invitation carries the hour, and everyone is told a quarter of an hour before.

Frequent questions

Is it free?
Yes. Rooftop is free, in the browser. The shop sells extra room moods, nothing else.
Do I need an extension or an app?
No. It all happens in a web page.
Do my friends need an account?
No. They open your link and pick a name.
Does it work with YouTube?
Yes. Share the YouTube tab in Chrome or Edge with its audio: picture and sound play in the room.
And with Netflix?
Most often not: Netflix, like Disney+ and Prime Video, shows a black screen when the screen is shared. That is its copy protection.
